Seems like a good day to remember the story of Obama sending personal checks to struggling Americans

As well as the fact that his White House never publicized it, such that the story only came out afterwards. How we got from Obama to a President who tells a grieving widow that "shit happens" is something this nation will never live down.

Here's a refresher for people who don't remember: https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012/post/president-obama-wrote-checks-to-struggling-americans-according-to-washington-post-book/2011/10/21/gIQAa9Kp3L_blog.html?utm_term=.6aa7481c963f
