Scarborough: Trump Has No 'Shred of Humanity' After Using Kelly's Dead Son For Cheap Political Shot

“I think it’s safe to assume Donald Trump is going to say offensive things,” said Joe Scarborough — who spent another day on Morning Joe lambasting the president for his latest objectionable remarks.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump used the death of White House Chief of Staff John Kelly‘s son — a Marine who died in Afghanistan — to deflect from criticisms over his inconsistent condolences to gold star families. “You could ask General Kelly, did he get a call from Obama?” Trump said during an interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade.

Trump’s began employing this “whataboutism” against Barack Obama with Kelly’s son after he was criticized for not properly addressing the US troops who recently died in Niger — a move that Scarborough called “a cheap political shot.” Scarborough went on to raise the question as to what Kelly’s thoughts were on the president using his son’s death as a prop:

“If we have to talk about what’s happened over the past several days on this story, it would make more sense to talk about what the president did to the chief of staff and his wife and their daughter-in-law and their grandchildren and their family when the president dragged their son into the limelight for a cheap political shot on a talk radio show — used [Kelly’s] son’s dead body to attack Barack Obama, and by extension other predecessors… Exactly what is John Kelly’s response to the President of the United States doing something that no one, no president with any shred of humanity would consider doing.”

Morning Joe co-host Mika Brezinski chimed in by saying Trump “does not seem fit for the job at all” — particularly as the possibility of war controls the “fears of the American people.”
