John Kelly May have confirmed trump call

To the widow of Sgt. Johnson.
John Kelly stated today:
“It stuns me that a member of Congress would have listened in on that conversation. It stuns me. I thought at least that was sacred.”

While he repeatedly lambasted Congresswoman Wilson for listening in on the call, he did nothing to dispute the contents of the call in his comments.

While I admit this might not be the totality of his comments but if they are, it is an incredibly smart way to indirectly confirm trump’s disrespectful and crass phone call to Sgt. Johnson’s wife. There is nothing in his comments that refutes the contents of the Congresswoman’s or wife’s version of the call.

Just like he mentors the pResident, so what's the difference. Kelly is exactly who we thought he was. I'm glad he's there to keep his guy from wigging all the way out, but he's a Trump lackey just like all the rest.

The fact that a congressperson happened to be in the car is beside the point.

Why are you trying to put this in a better light for Kelly? I don't care he was a general, and the fact he lost his own son does not change the fact he is voluntarily working for the most disrespectful, dangerous and incompetent POTUS in history. He's not there to prevent a war; he's there out of self-interest and ambition. Anyone with respect for America would not stand by while Trump trashes our institutions.

That also includes stop glorifying all of them. At a minimum their job is a job. For those that are in harms way is a different story. But in many cases there are those that may excel beyond expectations and they stand out above the rest. Some are recognized when it involves force while others may excel behind the line.

It's illegal to be holding a cell phone and talking/texting while driving in most states. Whoever was driving had to put the call on speaker and therefore it was heard by everyone in the car.

It was on speaker and everyone there heard the remarks made by Trump! I'm very sure that Congresswoman Wilson had the permission of the family to go public with what Trump said.

What stuns me is that Kelly didn't do anything to correct it...he was there in the room!

What comforts an old career military father won't necessarily comfort a mother or wife (widow). NONE of those mfckers have common sense. None of them. And it's a damn shame.

Also, he didn't 100% rule out the possibility that an attempt was made by Pres. Obama to contact him. Did anyone catch that?

It's impossible to respect Kelly after today. This is the beginning of the end for him. He's no longer the man keeping Trump from going off the deep end. He's just another clown in the car now.

Conservatives do not seem to have the ability to think their arguments through.

And this is after it had been made very clear that Rep. Wilson was an old friend of the family.

"Kelly called Wilson’s behavior “selfish” and indicated she had eroded the standards of decency in America."

WTF is John Kelly talking about? Congresswoman Wilson is a good friend of the Johnson family, not to mention she was riding in a limo with the family when Trump called and placed on speaker phone.

As far as decency goes, Mr. Kelly lost all credibility when he accepted to work for Trump.

I, for one, called, from AFRICOM where Sgt. Johnson's Green Beret command works out of, and each office person let me express my concern at length about not only the lack of pathos in the WH, but also lack of information about what had actually happened in Niger and the timeline in which information had been released, as well as my concern about NK and my desire for impeachment.

A couple of folks said that many others had called to express their same concerns.

I called both GOP and Dem reps. I wasn't alone.
