Kelly, of all people, should know that there are times when it's best to accept a minor loss and go on a tactical withdrawal instead of continuing a disastrous offensive.

I despise Trump as much as the next DUer. And truthfully, up until a member of the military is wounded, killed, harmed, etc., I don't have a lot of respect for those who sign up to participate in the 21st Century Crusades (there are other reasons I suppose to sign up nowadays, but everyone knows what they are likely to end up doing). But . . . . . . .


What Trump supposedly said -- "he knew what he was signing up for" -- can be taken two ways.

#1. It's crass as hell to say to a grieving mother, wife, child.


#2. He knew what might happen in the military, but he signed up anyway, he was very brave to protect our country . . . . . .


God, I hate offering any kind of defense for Trump, but I think one could argue that #2 is what he meant in his doltish way.


I wrote this yesterday and got bashed, but I really believe it. This is not the kind of thing that is going to convert one white winger to vote Democratic.

I think we need to quit trying to make something out of this. There's a heck of a lot of other stuff to go after him about.

Bottom line here Kelly confirmed what the congress woman said and made Red Don to be a needless liar at the time people are grieving instead of just leaving it the hell alone.
