Out of mouths of babes

Today I am subbing for a 1st grade class. One student told me she was going to China for a month for Chinese New Year in February, another piped in she was only going for two weeks, then another little girl said she had been to Thailand and China. The girl who told me she had been to both places said she was afraid to go to China because twitler wants to kill the President of China!!!! Another said she was also afraid. I told them that was not true and not be afraid. But inside I was thrown that a little 6 year is afraid the US President is going to kill the Chinese President. It was shocking to me kids so little would say that. And the little girl who made that statement is white and the other two were Asian.

As a teacher I make it a habit to never talk politics nor disparage twitler. But that child’s comments really threw me.

I have to wonder how many of millions of children are getting anxiety over twitler?
