What happened at the Limerick nuclear plant?

There are some conflicting reports about a problem at the Limerick plant in Pennsylvania. There were initial reports of an electrical problem which forced the nuke to shut down, but now there are unconfirmed reports of an explosion. Hopefully it's nothing, but the plant's location makes it worth mentioning.

The NRC has two inspectors permanently assigned to the facility.

Sheehan said Exelon had declared an "Unusual Event," which is the lowest of four levels of emergency classification used by the NRC.

An "electrical disturbance caused a loss of power to generator cooling equipment" at the plant, Exelon Nuclear spokesperson Dana Melia said in a statement.

"There is no threat to the health and safety of the public associated with this event," Melia said.

My family has a nice expensivce house near there, I have been trying to talk Dad, a 85 yo retiree sell this house & you can get 1 in Vermont for 20% of what u have tied up here. He is a GE retired engineer, & nothing any corp does is ever bad, incompetent or dangerous.

With water levels everywhere dropping it is a matter of time till many of these are shutdown during dry times cause there ain't enuff water for them to function.
