U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday promised an even stricter crackdown on the brutal MS-13 street gang, whose members are suspected in a series of killings in the suburbs of New York City.
The attorney general designated the Central American gang as a "priority" for the Justice Department's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces. The designation directs prosecutors to pursue all legal avenues, including racketeering, gun and tax laws, to target the gang, Sessions said.
"MS-13 members brutally rape, rob, extort and murder," Sessions told hundreds of police executives at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Philadelphia.
"With more than 40,000 members worldwide - including 10,000 in the United States - MS-13 threatens the lives and well-being of each and every family everywhere they infest."

(12,673 posts)Getting rid of all possible undocumented persons of color until all they're left with are the few MS-13 gang members here who aren't already U.S. citizens?
And of course, the Russian Mob or the Chinese Triad/SE Asian gangs don't seem to be as a high priority, even though they are just as violent and liable to shoot innocent passers-by, traffic in people and drugs, and are just as dangerous to U.S. Society. But they aren't brown, and are more liberal with their bribes so I guess it's okay.

(16,254 posts)I try to keep up with the news, but had never heard of MS-13 or of such a horrid gang in the US. He went on and on, from one errand
to another, and I thought this must be a huge and serious problem in the US Then, he talked about giving money to police forces to hire more cops...$100M?...and things started to fall into place. We seem to have money to increase the military and police forces, but take from Medicare, Medicaid, Meals on Wheels, education, children's health insurance and other "less significant" problems in the country. He just kept repeating the rape, torture, kill (or whatever the motto is) purpose of this MS-13. I'd never heard of it. I was darned concerned by the time I finished my errands to even go home.
I have not seen one single article about this gang. How did 10,000 of them infiltrate the US without us knowing about it? Are they actual home-based citizens or immigrants/visitors? How long have they been operating in the US? They say 40K worldwide?

(16,178 posts)MS-13 members on marijuana that are the real problem. But Mr Sessions does have his priorities. Sadly, none of them involve prosecuting the real organized criminals in the financial sector of our country. He'd rather see them get golden parachutes and bonuses.
