Megyn Kelly on Monday waded back into territory she vowed to leave behind, saying on her new NBC morning program that she complained about Bill OReilly while she was an anchor at Fox News but was ignored.
In an extraordinary monologue, Kelly went after OReilly, her former bosses and colleagues, accusing the network of fostering a toxic culture for its female employees.
OReillys suggestion that no one ever complained about his behavior is false, Kelly said during Megyn Kelly Today. I know because I complained.
Kelly has vowed to keep her program light and sunny, but the revelation Saturday that OReilly paid $32 million to a Fox contributor, Lis Wiehl, to settle harassment allegations in January drew her back into a topic she might have wanted to avoid.

(13,616 posts)I will try to be polite, because no matter how much of your money was made enabling, supporting and outright defending the Bill O'Reilly's and Roger Ailes of the world, the fact that is even more disgusting considering that you complained about both their behaviors, and were suffering directly from Mr. Ailes, yes despite all these things that you know you do not deny, you never deserved to be attacked by any of the glorified fraternity boys that make up Fox News..
That being said, all your attempts to scrub the blood off your hands are extremely hollow, and yes, it is reflected in the dismal ratings of your show, and the rumor is that most of the cast hates you. Never mind the strange obsession of those who run NBC to prove that they are at the center, despite the fact that Rachel Maddow, your old arch enemy, is winning the ratings war. We know who you are, which is why you are ignored at best, hated at worst.
the good part of me wants to go ahead and welcome you into the fold. But the devil on my left shoulder, who is usually wrong is saying something that is irrefutable; the only thing that stopped you from being a loyal fox footsoldier was the fact that you found a nice pile of cash to fall into. as a man, I know I really cannot comment on feminist matters, so I ask that they emailed the readers an honest question: how much do you trust someone that demonized you all the time?
as for me personally, the fact that you fell into a haystack of cash rather than a pile of manure is a travesty of justice. Believe it or not I am being quite nice, because if you stayed in a situation where you knew women were being abused, yourself among them, and you not only kept her mouth shut about it, but you defended the's men for years, I would not be a half so kind.
And let John Oliver go ahead and say this so much better than I can:
