Most of Sen. Dianne Feinsteins Golden State colleagues in the House are declining to endorse her reelection bid in its earliest stages, highlighting the frustrations of younger Democrats bristling at the perceived lack of upward mobility for future party leaders.
The Hill contacted the offices of all 39 Democrats in Californias House delegation over the past week to gauge the level of support for the veteran incumbent seeking a fifth full term. Twelve have endorsed Feinstein; one is backing state Sen. Kevin de León; a handful said theyre staying neutral; and most did not respond at all.
The silence comes amid an escalating clamor for generational change among a growing crop of aspiring Democrats who are frustrated with their minority status in both chambers and are eager to remake the partys image.
And while Feinsteins campaign says its too early to judge the strength of de Leóns bid and theyre confident in the endorsements theyve won so far theres also a sense that the coming primary could be her most challenging to date. With that in mind, theyre leaving nothing to chance.

First of all we are talking about over a year before the election. How does this compare to the past? The article doesn't seem to address that. They say out of 39 Democrats, and 12 had endorsed her, 1 endorsed de Leon, a "handful" are neutral, and MOST did not respond at all. What does "NOT RESPOND AT ALL MEAN"? The Hill would like you to believe it means those who did not respond means they do not support Feinstein, and that is absolutely a FALSE conclusion.
It is a bullshit analysis, from a political gossip rag
