The people who voted for Trump are the problem, and they will vote for him again too. Hoyt Oct 2017 #1

else matters as much. That is why Trump won - he knew how to entertain the easily impressed, like a carnival barker leading simpletons to a giant rubber octopus that he swears is “the kraken!” The media loves him and loves to hate him. He’s great for ratings. Even now, the criticism isn’t sincere. It’s an attempt to get ratings through controversy.

This is what politics will be from now on - clowns competing with each other like an episode of “America's Got Talent.” Americans are so divorced from reality, and how bad things could really get, that they assume anybody in office will do. We’re complacent.

I wholeheartedly believe that Trump will probably win again if nothing changes. All he has to do is go into his entertainer mode and put on a show. The idiotic public eats it up. Half probably voted for him because they thought it would be “funny” if he were President.

It’s frustrating. We have all this freedom, and nobody takes it seriously - even the people who mindlessly repeat the platitude, “Freedom isn’t Free!” have never actually considered that phrase’s meaning. They assume that we can just half-ass it and exist as a free society forever. Here’s a hint - it has very little to do with fighting foreign wars against people who don’t even have planes or a competent offensive army.
