While great a few repubs are speaking truth to power, what do Dems stand for?

Kudos to Senators Flake, Corker, and McCain for having the guts to speak out. Better late than never! Too fucking bad they did not have this insight before the Orange Monster was elected.

Yet we Dems have yet to articulate a bold message which articulates in ((easy to get terms)) what we stand for.

DUers get it, but what's our compelling essay to Middle and Purple America? Pushing back against the idiot fascist in chief is one thing , but it's not enough.

Just saying...

I think they could be more vocal and show support for these Senators willing to stand up for their Party and speak the truth about their leader.

Do you want to give him something to tweet about and unite his followers behind? I want the GOP to eat itself and I'm glad the DEMs are staying out of the fray.

It's standard. It's routine.

The only thing it leads to is negative solidarity. That's fine in war, but unless we want to think of others as non-human and go to war--something many seem to relish, in an atavistic sort of way--it has no place in a democracy. Perhaps in a Democracy (tm), but that's repugnant to me.

For that, the first step is to betray most principles I think of as progressive in the quest for power to oppress the enemy. I find that to undercut the purpose, which isn't power, but principle.

Let them fight it out among themselves. It's their party that's at stake, and the result is likely to be a lot of disillusioned voters.

Again, not a good thing in a democracy, but it's a necessary evil. Sadly, it leads to things like a plurality of a minority of voters making the decisions. Hardly a mandate.

But it's probably not a good idea to get in the middle of what could be a great train wreck that can help us take back Congress.

Every day wasted without a registration push will probably be replaced by a less favorable day next year or subsequent years
