It was the "King of China" moment.
But not just because he sounded like an eight year old who's trying to bullshit you into thinking the moon's made out of PopTarts.
It was the almost palpable sense of jealousy and excitement that you can hear from him when he heard President Xi was given additional powers.
DOBBS: Relationships -- you were criticized for even trying to court, if you will, President Xi of China. Everyone, the so-called intelligentsia of this countrys foreign policy establishment, said youre wasting your time, it just cant be done. And obviously youve made significant progress with him and --
TRUMP: Just spoke to him a few minutes ago, just before I walked into the room. You know, something has been given to him thats never been --
DOBBS: Right.
TRUMP: -- its really virtually never happened in China. Hes been given powers that nobodys --
DOBBS: -- written into the constitution.
TRUMP: Hes a powerful man. I happen to think hes a very good person. Now with that being said, he represents China, I represent the USA, so, you know, theres going to always be conflict. But we have a very good relationship. People say we have the best relationship of any president-president, because hes called president also.
Now some people might call him the king of China. But hes called president. But we have a very good relationship and thats a positive thing. And it would be good to have that relationship with Russia and other countries, too.
You could almost see him drooling about when he thinks he's going to be given those additional executive powers and people are calling him the "King of America."

(13,431 posts)1. It was not a circle jerk as Dobbs spent the entire interview blowing him.
Forgive my preference for preciseness.
