And STILL the sanctions aren't imposed, and the so-called Step Department is "dismantling" the sanctions compliance group ??

I didn't care first time, then I saw 2 or 3 times the "huge scandal will revealed soon", "Pizzagate",...
So I did a research. I did not even finish the first sentence !
How can people believe such stupid flawed fairy tale ??

(38,427 posts)Most of us know, and fewer are supporting him. Fewer and fewer. There is very strong erosion in the percent that support him. He thinks that fighting back with this s**t is what you do, and he is wrong. He attacks Clinton, and he looks stupid. Sure, 25 percent will agree, down from what it was. But gradually, that will get to the 15 percent that Nixon had when he resigned. Or maybe 20 percent. Doesn't matter. When the indictments come in, the erosion will continue or speed up. Time is not on his side.
This last one says it all, "...... There is so much GUILT by Democrats/Clinton, and now the facts are pouring out. DO SOMETHING!"
Yes..the facts are coming out tomorrow, indictments of the first of your crowd. BUT NOT THE LAST

But considering that he says Twitter is how he speaks to "the people" it is an awfully damned dangerous thing to say. If I was anyone on the left I'd be truly careful right now.

(884 posts)The tactic of federal employees refusing orders and making the President fire them was powerful back during Watergate because Republicans of that era were actually concerned with the government remaining able to function, and because the news media of the day was comparatively small and dedicated to the truth.
It's mighty easy for those of us on the side of sanity to be thankful that Trump has a hard time getting anything done, but there is considerable risk associated with becoming complacent in that being the state of our government. It is not by accident, and it is not intended to be temporary, so we best be keeping our eyes on that particular ball.

(884 posts)Even sitting here amid the anticipation of at least one of these people finally having a date with justice, I'm finding it very difficult to be optimistic, because even if we saw the complete ouster of every Republican in every level of government, we are still faced with one terrifying truth...

(6,913 posts)It's pretty obvious the Republican Party is not unified or behind him. Within the past week three Republican senators have attacked him. The country is severely divided but the anti-Trump side keeps getting larger, if incrementally. He knows the end starts tomorrow. I bet at night he lies in bed wondering what went wrong, because I don't think he's smart enough to understand.

(14,574 posts)BELIEVE these things Trump is tweeting.
Fox hasn't even reported that charges have been filed yet. I went on their site and there are two articles there that make me want to puke.
First, the headline is "Somebody broke their oath: Gowdy slams Mueller team over lack of secrecy..."
The second, right below, still on the front page is, "Judge Jeanine: After Russian Dossier Funding, Time to 'Lock Her Up'"
So, think about that a second. According to Variety, "Fox News averaged 1.72 million total day viewers, with 359,000 of those falling in the key adults 25-54 demo." as of March of this year.
According to Adweek, here are Fox viewing stats as of June 27, 2017: "Prime-time (Mon-Sun): 2,352,000 total viewers / 472,000 Age 25-54: Total Day (Mon-Sun): 1,465,000 total viewers / 314,000 Age 25-54.
These are the true believers born from the 1971 Lewis memo to the US Chamber of Commerce, and nourished by the death of the Fairness Doctrine at the hands of Ronald Reagan in 1987. Funny, that - capitalist interests ripping apart the social, economic, political and moral fabric of this country.
I mean, my wife and I watched that movie about the water in Flint, MI last night and if you think that corporations or capitalists give a shit whether we live or die, think again. Money is FAR more important than human life to these people. You can see that even with Fox, which ran the 'impeach Trump' ad because a billionaire paid them lots of money to do it.
The Democratic Party had better coalesce and quit arguing about meaningless stuff, and focus with single minded intensity in getting out the vote, overturning voter suppression, getting young Dems into local office and learning to talk compellingly about kitchen table issues. This is probably our last chance to take back this nation, because it's a fucking slippery slope down to unrestrained capitalism, war and serfdom for you and me.

(2,541 posts)This man poses is undeniable. Given the unstable nature of his base him tweeting for people to DO SOMETHING could easily be interpreted by someone in his base in a very bad way. People in his base have already said that if trump was impeached there would be violence. Republicans have embraced trump and his insanity...they own it and need to held accountable next year for putting our country in such peril. They need to be voted out completely and put into the minority until they can show that they have the best interest for the country before party.

(6,377 posts)Mobilize by the thousands with their weapons and try to take back the United States? It doesnt make any sense.
Snackshack
(2,541 posts)But I do think it would be a mistake to think they would just sit idly by. We have already seen them in isolated incidents that resulted in violence and death over a weekend protest (several times.) No one expected them to mobilize as they did to support a rancher and his livestock and these were just localized events. Trump impeachment would have nationwide impact. Like I said hopefully you are right and my concerns are misplace. However we have seen how trump and sites like breitbart can push false narratives that tap into long held beliefs to energize their base to take irrational actions. The pizzagate thing is another example that guy went and shot up the place over emails but in his mind his self investigation of the evil Democrats was a patriotic action.
