Buzzfeeds Morning Manafort Money Laundering Report

Excerpt:
“Law enforcement sources say the companies sent funds in round-dollar amounts without explanation of what the money was to be used for. The countries where these transactions originated — notably Cyprus and the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines — are notorious for money laundering. Federal law enforcement officials said they saw evidence of “layering,” the process by which the origin of money is obscured behind many layers of companies. Much of the money ended up in the US, sent to American home improvement contractors, a hedge fund, and even a car dealership”

— Makes me definitely feel like it’s going to be Manafort tomorrow morning.

This isn’t just working as a political advisor for a corrupt Ukrainian and having to retroactively register the business transactions (which is shady but not illegal).

At best this is tax dodging and st worst money laundering for the Russian mob.

From a purely strategic point, though, if Tony P had done something illegal (e.g., lie to investigators), it would be a good move to indict him first. It would totally, completely, and forever shut down the GOP counternarrative of “Mueller is biased because of uranium!”

Plus, we’re Democrats and therefore probably not hypocrites. A crook is a crook. I don’t know if T Podesta is or not, but if he is and gets caught, I won’t shed any tears.

Money laundering is one of those things that everybody knows about. Mostly we just accept that rich assholes are going to be rich assholes. Kind of like how everyone knew about Weinstein. Monday could connect all the dots in a Weinstein like moment for money launderers,

In Malta. Car bomb.

The Nevada based lawyers are all (figurative, at least) ghosts as well.
