The Hunt-Liddy-McCord "Plumbers" indictment came 18 months before the Watergate 7 charges.

The Hunt-Liddy-McCord "Plumbers" indictment came 18 months before the Watergate 7 charges. This will go slowly, too

Don’t be surprised if Mueller’s first volley is understated. Have patience. The arc of justice is long, but it bends toward impeachment.

I don't know if this will go slow or not or be understated. Just posting, just in case.

We are less than a day away from Monday.

Fingers crossed.

Happy that the word indictment has gone public now.

or maybe a lot faster, even though the evidence is even more complicated. Mueller has a large team of some of the best and most specialized lawyers in the country who probably have a very good idea where to look and what to look at; they just need to put it all together. There were a lot of reasons why unwinding Watergate took so long, not the least of which is that Nixon was a whole lot smarter than Trump and had far better self-control. Nixon knew better than to act like he was freaking out (at least until the Saturday Night Massacre) and to say incriminating stuff in public. Trump basically confessed to obstruction of justice when he told Lester Holt on national TV that he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation. That's a nice start for Mueller right there.

moved at a snail's pace until near the end. Then, everything happened so fast that I could not catch my breath.

I hope justice is served here. I really do hope so.

Trump’s business instincts might ascribe to the theory that you get big rewards if you take calculated big risks. I can see him pushing to fire up impeachment hearings sooner rather than later if his gut told him (1) the party line will hold well enough to stop impeachment or to keep the Senate from convicting, and (2) the longer it goes, the less likely that party line will hold.

Or his gut might tell him “I want Original Recipe from KFC”. Could go either way.

Thank goodness, Turd took care of that on national TV.

Things will move but be prepared for surprises. The pace of communications will move this faster than Watergate. The whole event is absurd and surreal.
