(55,025 posts)it is a common saying/phenomenon that time tends to dull the pain of trauma. since we did manage to survive the bush-era (at least those of us in this conversation), for many, the awfulness of that time fades. ESPECIALLY in the CONTEXT of the PRESENT horror.
Sorry you can't seem to comprehend my point, hope that additional explanation helps. Otherwise it might look like YOU are "just that...oops...better stop there."
That or you are just spoiling for a fight.
Have a real nice day!

(9,512 posts)...and that's what i responded to.
I for one still acutely feel the pain caused by bush /cheney,inc. i still feel for all the dead, injured, tortured and displaced people from that particularly atrocious era.
In a sense i envy people who so blithely forget or "move on" from such atrocities. Bad enough that W was illegitimate to begin with (and probably stole the election from Kerry as well, but the wars and the continuing legacy of "the war on terror" with all its attacks on personal freedoms here, well...let's just say I not only remember but i see the ongoing relevance in many ways (as an aside, can you just imagine trump watching bush and thinking: if that idiot can be president so can I).
The country will never be the same again. Make light of that if you will. Trump does not make Bush any less heinous. I will oppose the rehabilitation of the bush cabal at every opportunity (thanks for the opportunity).

(90,787 posts)and we'll continue to get (some) presidents who think they can do anything they want without worry of prosecution.
I, for one, think America can survive just fine with jailing a president. Might even do better than fine once people know they can go to prison even if they are president.
No shame in jailing a criminal president. The only shame (hypocrisy, lie, bullshit) is in pretending there is shame in jailing a criminal president.

(36,299 posts)45 is NOT an anomaly. Repugs will NOT revert to the mean. They will ONLY continue to get worse with each election they are allowed to "win".

(1,917 posts)Trump is by far worse than Bush. Nobody is suggesting W was a good president Tom.
