I watched Hannity for about 5 minutes saying that this travesty of justice was final proof that there are two standards of justice, with Democrats and liberals getting away with everything. I just can't figure out why that is when they have the House, the Senate, the White House, the Justice Department and their own TV network.
Let's hope that we can end his reign - whether it's in months or at the end of his term - without him killing us all out of spite, hubris and ignorance.

(67,112 posts)He's like an invasive force to the US and has created and instilled all of the hatred we see today, mostly via his main mouthpiece, Fox. He is to the US, almost like Joseph Goebbels was to Germany. It's incredible, and America sits idly by while the country is destroyed.

(10,721 posts)CNN had a piece today about how Fox is covering the latest news. But Democrats have failed to properly combat the "liberal media" narrative that has dominated the last several decades.
As a result, millions of rubes have bought into the lie. Meanwhile, you hardly hear or read "right wing/corporate media" outside of sites like this one.

(67,112 posts)There are a lot of very smart democrats, but they seem to simply lack the skill sets to craft and deploy effective messaging. Look at how far Trump has gone with simply "Crooked Hillary." What is our message, they go low we go high. There is nothing intuitive with that as a catch phrase.

(3,011 posts)but when my kids were young, I heard a statistic that really got my attention.
The basic idea was that I could talk to my kids about healthy food EVERY DAY for one hour during breakfast, lunch, and dinner for several hundred years and not come close to the number of hours of advertising they will hear for sugary, processed foods.
In other words, what I say would have little effect on their ideas about food.
I put our television in our garage and raised my kids without television.
Repubulicans bought the radio stations, they have FOX that plays EVERYWHERE! We simply can't fight this without an equal presence in the marketplace.
Liberal billionaires need to step up and help us fight Rubert Murdock and the Rush's of the world.

(13,873 posts)One thing we can do on a small scale that I have found effective is to ask public venues to turn off FOX news. I have done it in restaurants, hotel lounges (where the remote is often left next to the TV anyway) and doctor's offices.
Several times I have been told that the station is generally on whatever was the last request from someone. I usually don't mention FOX, but ask if it would be OK to turn it to CNN because there is something I want to see.
My daughter was in the hospital for several days a while back. I asked them to turn the TV in the waiting area to CNN, and it was still there the next two days when I returned
The only time I was turned down was at a coffee shop that has a lot of old folks (like me) there. The manager said he had gotten complaints about MSNBC and CNN, so he turned it to the Weather Channel, which is still a victory.
