You are Paul John Manafort Jr.
, former exalted campaign manager for Donald J. Trump.

snip//

They found the wire transfers, too. The Internal Revenue Service says you didn’t pay taxes on the income. You begin to wonder how your lawyer can be so optimistic.

Reading pages 7 through 14 makes your colon twitch. They’ve listed all the payments from your shell companies to “vendors” in the states. Between June 2008 and August 2014, you spent more than $5.4 million on home improvements for your spread in Bridgehampton.

You’re wondering: How in the world could drywall cost so much? Or maybe it was that new duct work for the air conditioner.

There’s another $820,000 for landscaping, $112,000 for audio-video equipment and almost a million bucks on antique rugs. You are fully aware how ridiculous this appears, but those rugs are incredibly nice.

Same goes for the $1.3 million worth of men’s clothing you bought during those years. The suits are truly awesome — the tailor takes your inseam with a platinum tape measure.

You remind yourself it’s no crime to be rich in this country. You’ll plead innocent, go to trial, and your lawyer will work his magic!

But what if he doesn’t? What if a jury of ordinary folks can’t understand how a person as busy as you are could forget to register as a foreign agent, forget to mention his offshore bank accounts, and forget to pay taxes on $18 million?

They're crazier than any of the characters in Hiaasen's novels.

But one could EASILY spend $112,000.00 dollars on high quality A/V equipment.

I have worked on installations in home that cost far more than that. It is not that far fetched.

A high quality venue class video projector could cost 10's of thousands alone.

A home theater full of high quality seating... if you have to ask now much, you can't afford it.

It is just a singular bad example. No biggy...

Lock him up nonetheless!

I'm a musician and I enjoy my movies and TV.

If I had that kind of jack, I could easily spend a hundred grand.

1.3 million on suits, though? They had to see that guy coming, know'm say'n?

In the face of it all, it seems like chump change, er maybe it should be called "tRump" change now.

He may get some soon woven out of polonium threads.

But I could not quite verbalize it as eloquently, or creatively as that!

I think you may be on to something!

Do you think the carpet matches the drapes?

Kinda sucks to be you these days. Those days of being smug and answering questions by saying “it’s absurd” are gone.

For the rest of us it’s just getting good. We want you to be punished, of course. But most of all, we want to see tRump go down in flames and it will be so sweet if his demise is facilitated by you. We want to see what your custom made suits look like as you stroll onto the witness stand to start “splaining” yourself. We want to see you squirm and sweat, knowing they gotcha. That day can’t get here too soon when we get to see a truly despicable person get exposed as the rat you are.
