Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhat the hell has happened to Richard Engels report On Assignmen?
He talked about the paradise papers and direct evidence of traitors colluding with the government. And criminal Russian oligarchs investing in Facebook and Twitter. I watched it last night on MSNBC and on the internet. Now it has been cut down from 43 minutes 10 seconds!
Has someone in the government strong-armed MSNBC?. This is very strange. I've been trying to get as many people as possible to watch this it's engrossing and very informational.

Are you asking why a one-hour television program has 43 minutes and 10 seconds of content, once the commercials are removed?

(36,853 posts)The video was on YouTube. Copyright issues are why it is now 10 seconds long (it was not an official MSNBC video).

(15,064 posts)There is much more evidence presented. Richard Engel has done a service. The people need to know what the hell is going on. The criminals will be indicted and arrested. Nothing in Richard Engels report is interfering with Robert Mueller. It was last night's show On Assignment. The show was a 60-minute report with 15 minutes of commercials. The details of what Richard Engel reported is important.

(36,853 posts)YouTube. Here is the thread from V&M:

The YouTube account does not have rights to the video, hence it is now 10 seconds and not 43 minutes. I thought I explained that, but...
Your post, without that link, said "Now it has been cut down from 43 minutes 10 seconds" not "Now it has been cut down from 43 minutes to 10 seconds".
If MSNBC expects to air that program in an off-hours block again this week, then they are unlikely to put it up on their website yet.

I think you are mixing me up with the OP!
Yeah, they are not likely to air the whole thing (the last time I tried to watch his program online, MSNBC only had a portion of it.)

(11,915 posts)I had started watching (about halfway through) this morning before work from the DU link, went home to pick it back up again at lunch, got another 10 min in and then it popped me to the YouTube main screen. When I tried to reload it, it was 10 sec. long.
I'm with you -- something fishy. I had just told hubby that Manafort et al are SOOOO SCREWED!
Wish I would have saved it

(15,064 posts)have advertisements. When any television program is shown on the net there are very few if any ads. There are usually approximately 15 minutes of advertisements on a news program. I think you missed the point. This needs to be seen by everyone that can see it. We need to stop arguing small points and get to the real points.

(9,527 posts)You seem to have meant cut from 43 minutes to 10 seconds. The answer as others have said is copyright.

(15,238 posts)I would be fairly certain that the secretive legislative committees are well aware of that information long before now. This is not information the public would choose to understand.

(15,804 posts)I'd saved it and shared it. Now it's down to 9 seconds, and it's nowhere to be found on MSNBC's site.
Got a feeling it might have pissed off more than a few people . . .

(46,166 posts)I just checked the info about this episode and it's not going to air here again.

(61,695 posts)That was on instead of RE's show, even it says "On Assignment."

(6,362 posts)The other evening I watched a later re-airing of his broadcast and it was Engel reporting on the Paradise Papers. When I pulled back my deleted recording of the original airing I didn't bother to peek at it for content. Turns out that it's the one that was preempted by the shooting coverage. My mistake!
So I suppose there might not be a way to watch his show again unless MSNBC airs it again.

(10,022 posts)The information contained in the Paradise Papers is out there whether NBC allows an unedited version of Engels report on the net or not.
