General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsFor the all hate heaped on me for daring to be critical of the Democratic Party
I do not appcietate being called a Russian troll or Trump supporter.
Walter Mondale was the first Democrat I voted for and I have NEVER VOTED FOR A SINGLE REPUBLUCAN IN ANY ELECTION!
In 1988, I was a Field Coordinator in 4 states for the late Sen. Paul Simon's presidential campaign!
I voted for Bernie in the primary and Hillary Clinton in the general election.
Disagree with my ideas all you want, but FUCK OFF if you make nasty assumption about someone you don't know a God Dam thing about.
None of us know what's in another's heart on DU!

(31,924 posts)I think 'worship' is a really negative word. I think perhaps - you meant - stop supporting democratics blindly?
I see no worship here. I see loyalty to a belief system.

(109,000 posts)None of us had ever lived through another election where the winner of the popular vote lost. DU gave us a place to go.

(53,074 posts)as a golden opportunity. Then when it was clear Dems were winning, you self deleted.
Would you have gone into a field office last century and talk about what you wanted to do when they lost that night? Yet you think there is something noble about doing that now. There isnt.
If you dont want people to think you wish ill on the party, dont post crap like you did today. That you were active 30 years ago doesnt give you a free pass. A lot of us volunteer every single election, and we dont look forward to losses. We get our asses out and turn out votes.
I for one am sick of people who say the party stands for nothing because it doesnt cater exclusively to their interests, as though the rest of us are nothing. That the party doesnt echo you, put people like you over the poor and marginalized, doesnt mean it stands for nothing.
Northam ran on a $15 min wage, once a litmus test, now nothing. But then we know none of this has a thing to do with issues, particularly since most who make that argument refuse to acquaint themselves with the issues Dems like Clinton ran on.

(51,308 posts)I really hate seeing that used in arguments here.
Often its the last resort of someone who is losing an argument.
