The real sign of voters rejection of Trump

can be seen in the wins of democratic candidates at the local level, right down to city council seats.

It happened in my city. A woman of color unseated an incumbent republican who had campaign signs every 6 inches all over the city. He lost anyway. Her win feels exceptionally good.

It’s part of how Republicans got such huge majorities in some places, by winning from the top to the bottom.

But a new, blue wave is finally washing over America. 😁

The white republican male beat the African-American Democratic woman with 68% of the vote for the lone open sea on the city council. But, this is the town that raised Lee Atwater, so it's to be expected.

Just heard that 68% of the vote was only 434 votes.Which means only around 600 people in a town of 20,000 bothered to vote. Pathetic all around.

and instead frame it, on Trump and the entire Republican party.

For example:
"People have now realized that the Republican party is not interested in the good of the country but to serve the 1% and their personal agendas, and they are doing this with Trump as a decoy."

They all have to be exposed, the danger with isolating this to Trump is that once he is gone, and we all hope that is soon, the rest of those creeps will be exonerated to continue with their lies and their crappy agendas. Let us not forget that "the quiet one" (Pence) is as bad, or worst than Trump.

Democrats will provide universal health care; we will never take it away from you.
Democrats demand that the rich pay their fair share; we will never take your money and give it to them.

and so on.

Blunt.

Direct.

We now have a Democratic mayor-elect and one of my council members is now a Dem. Nazareth used to be repuke-dominated.

In Northampton County, PA, we ousted a repuke county exec who upped property taxes (which translates into higher rents for tenants) and we elected 4 out of a possible 5 Democratic county councilmembers, knocking off repuke incumbents.

Even in small town America, we've grown fed up with GOP corruption.

which elected 2 Democrats for the first time to their 5-member County Council (originally all-GOP).

PA has often kept local Rs in even when we voted D for President. That is slowly starting to change.

I live in Virginia.

The WaPo's election results this morning showed Gillespie getting 1,180,415 votes
It also showed Repub. candidate for Lt. Gov, Vogel, received 1,222,421

I.e., the Republican candidate for Lt. Gov. got 42,006 MORE VOTES than the Republican candidate for Governor!

And that carried through to the vote for the Republican candidate for State Attorney General (Adams), who pulled 30,646 MORE votes than Gillespie!

Odd things, elections.... Draw from that what you will.

He blanketed the airwaves in Northern Virginia with a hyper-racist, brazenly false ad campaign.

He enraged us.

We showed up.

Winning locally and state wide is more important than nationally right now. Need to be able to protect the vote and voting is handled by the states.
