General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI supported Hillary in 2008 until she conceded
and, of course, voted for Obama, even made a small contribution.
And of course I supported her last year. And, at some point in 1998, a local reporter quoted me saying that each marriage is different and issues should be resolved by the partners.
We know that had she won the electoral college, she, and her staff, would have to fight the Republicans at every term. Flynn would still be leading the "lock her up" chants.
And yet - deep breath, don't know how long this post will stay - I'd hate to think how all the sexual harassment stories would be "compared" to Bill's.
Yesterday, that self promoting egocentric Chris Matthews brought Monica Lewinsky into the discussion. Oh, she was not 14..blah blah blah. And I am sure that many do the same.

(47,128 posts)She shouldn't have to answer for what some one else did.
And having sex with consenting adults is quite different from sexual assault.

(47,128 posts)Yes, I think it was Kushner who brought in Clinton victims.
And if Bill is guilty of sexual assault he needs to face the music like every one else.

(47,486 posts)throughout the Clinton administration, and after they left the White House, such explanation would not matter to them.

(47,128 posts)I think it is going to be hard to really smear Hillary with Bill.
And Hillary says she is not running again, so she is bullet proof.
Doesn't matter to her anymore what the GOP talking heads blather about her.

(29,674 posts)And I thought most of Bill's were with consenting adults. If not then he should answer to real charges.

(29,674 posts)So why does it affect Hillary?
still_one
(92,217 posts)he did, and it was extremely cruel to Hillary. No doubt about it, his actions hurt the Democratic party by the media frenzy surrounding it, however, that relationship was consensual, and Monica Lewinsky made that very clear.
As usual, Matthews analysis, when he isn't spitting all over his guest is terribly flawed

(26,403 posts)However, once she won, in my heart of heart I *KNEW* that a bad day with her as President under constant attack by the Republicans and their noise machine would be *BETTER* than anything which would happen under Trump.
People need to realize there *IS* a huge moral and functional superiority of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The waffling over Roy Moore is only the most recent example. People willing to overlook and even endorse a multiple paedophile (30+) over someone whose moral focus has been forged on their career of fighting bigotry speaks volumes. Silence to White Nationalists, attacks on the poor, disenfranchising along with the creation of tantamount Poll-taxes, the war against Women, Education, etc. And that's not the only examples.
