but, as proven by two out of the three examples you cite, largely it's the electoral college system that is the real mystery to many of the people I've known from other countries that elect by popular vote. Why it still exists puzzles many of us citizens, as well. Had the results of the 2000 election had been reversed, the Republicans would have never stopped screaming. By 2016, the E.C. probably would have been gone.

re the Electoral College. If enough Americans voted, the results of almost all elections should look like Virginia last Tuesday, portions of the Deep South and some other blood red areas excepted. Our policies and positions align with those of the majority but they haven't been voting. If they did the EC results would align with the popular vote and we would have solid majorities in both houses of Congress and most state houses.

There are lots more of us than them. That's why the pukes are running around denying people the right to vote and riling up their idiotic base.
