Charlotte police officers were responding last week to a 911 call regarding a homemade explosive when they found a pipe bomb in the residence of Paul George Dandan, 30, and Derrick Fells, 39. The two men were then taken into custody.
Apparently we now need a new term for weapons that can destroy entire cities.

(13,081 posts)And thats with bullet holes, not panicked-trampling.
I know that you know, but not everyone seems to know: FIVE HUNDRED AMERICANS WERE SHOT ON OCTOBER FIRST. Within ten minutes of each other. By the same psycho, with perfectly legal guns. Precious, precious guns.
And more than a thousand Americans have been killed since then and I cant even cant the number of bullet holes in human beings.
Pass a law saying it is.

(62,444 posts)This is one of my pet peeves.
Why did they charge person with (statutorily defined offense) instead of (some words I would use which have nothing to do with any relevant statute).
We write these things down with particularity, so that people arent locked up for vague offenses. Although we do keep catch-alls for being an asshole such as disorderly conduct or breach of the peace.

(62,444 posts)I will go to my grave saying that in DU threads where people attempt to apply some other definition or understanding of words which are specifically defined in a particular way in a relevant statute.
What do you call putting dry ice in a plastic soda bottle? Well, in Utah it falls within the definition of an infernal device.
