http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/13/politics/roy-moore-washington-post-lawsuit/index.html"The Washington Post published another attack on my character and reputation because they are desperate to stop my political campaign. These attacks said I was with a minor child and are false and untrue -- and for which they will be sued," Moore said Sunday night during a campaign speech in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Washington Post declined to comment Monday morning.
It's not uncommon for public figures to threaten legal action against news organizations but ultimately fail to follow through. President Donald Trump threatened to sue The New York Times last year after it published the accounts of two women who claimed Trump touched them inappropriately. His lawyers never filed a lawsuit.
The Washington Post only reported the truth, and the truth was that they were told something by several people. It's downright scary that a former state judge, state supreme court justice, and potential future U.S. Senator, has no respect whatsoever for the First Amendment.

He really is a dumb SOB.

(1,202 posts)Evangelicals need to see the truth of that lying POS pedophile. Their faith and blindness needs to have illumination she's upon it. They need to see that they are excusing the actions of a pedophile and everyone else can see this. Something that very likely didn't stop in his 30's

(5,328 posts)But Moore doesn't want to sue any of the women, he wants to sue The Washington Post.

(82,849 posts)If old Roy's not careful, he might just find himself being held to the words on those stone monuments he wants to put in every public place in Alabama. As I recall, there's a real strong prohibition against bearing false witness or, as we might say nowadays, LYING.
