Moore threatens to sue Washington Post over report

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/13/politics/roy-moore-washington-post-lawsuit/index.html

(CNN) Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore says he will sue the Washington Post over its report alleging he pursued sexual relationships with teenagers -- including a 14-year-old -- when he was in his 30s.

"The Washington Post published another attack on my character and reputation because they are desperate to stop my political campaign. These attacks said I was with a minor child and are false and untrue -- and for which they will be sued," Moore said Sunday night during a campaign speech in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Washington Post declined to comment Monday morning.

It's not uncommon for public figures to threaten legal action against news organizations but ultimately fail to follow through. President Donald Trump threatened to sue The New York Times last year after it published the accounts of two women who claimed Trump touched them inappropriately. His lawyers never filed a lawsuit.

The Washington Post only reported the truth, and the truth was that they were told something by several people. It's downright scary that a former state judge, state supreme court justice, and potential future U.S. Senator, has no respect whatsoever for the First Amendment.

Discovery would be so much fun! Just think of the spotlights that will be shining on Moore and all of the other bits that will come out.

He really is a dumb SOB.

I can't wait for the depositions from 4 women entered into evidence to cook your goose. What a self-righteous sanctimonious dirty old man.

3. Does Roy Moore Think Jeff Bezos Can't Afford a Good Attorney?

Bezos would bring in a team of high-powered legal talent and their discovery would make for very interesting reading! This is no doubt part of the reasoning behind Trump's stacking the bench with inexperienced and unqualified zealots.

Evangelicals need to see the truth of that lying POS pedophile. Their faith and blindness needs to have illumination she's upon it. They need to see that they are excusing the actions of a pedophile and everyone else can see this. Something that very likely didn't stop in his 30's

12. Note what Moore said: The Post "will be sued," not that he will necessarily be the one to do it

If old Roy's not careful, he might just find himself being held to the words on those stone monuments he wants to put in every public place in Alabama. As I recall, there's a real strong prohibition against bearing false witness or, as we might say nowadays, LYING.

Which means that the Washington Post can ask him for documents, letters, notes, depositions, and other items, related to the litigation.

THis is typical Trumopian bluster and bullshit. He knows he has no chance of winning such a suit.
