If you search Google images for "teacher accused of having sex with a student," you might be surprised.

It doesn't prove anything, there are too many variables involved (including that perhaps one gender of abusers might be more newsworthy), and it's only a subset of those who might abuse minors. Still, it surprised me.

If you Google catholic priest sex abuse you'd think both the perpetrator and victim of child sex abuse was roughly speaking 100% of the time male.

As of 2015, about 20 percent of elementary teachers are male and between 41 and 42 percent of high school teachers are male.

...as often as a story about a female teacher.

And therein lies the entire problem.
