Sufficient unto the Day Is the Evil Thereof...

Every morning when I wake up and have my first look at DU, I realize that yet another awful, sad or maddening thing has happened. That thing, whatever it is, will become the topic of the day on my favorite political discussion forum.

That's more than enough for me. Today's miseries are plenty to discuss, I think, in most cases. I've never felt the need to go hunting for long-ago past issues, posts, or statements by DUers that were questionable, at best.

There's plenty of fodder for discussion in today's news, along with news from the past week or month. What happened a year ago and who said what about it is the stuff of archives, and not worth spending any time on today, it seems to me.

I don't know, but there's news, even on Sunday. I'm looking forward to reading what DUers think about that, as well as continuing discussion on other recent information.

How about you?

It's one of my favorite Bible verses, from Matthew 6:34.

Despite being an avowed atheist, I often find fodder for conversation therein.

but I have found that there is some wisdom within the confines of the Bible. Once you wade through all the violence and sex and shit, that is.

Oh, and as to your point: I'm kind of used to the average cherry picker that pulls one item out of context and tries to fly with it, but digging shit out of the archives from 1-2 years ago is beyond the pale.

Very risky. Some DUers have found themselves to be unable to post after such forays into the past.
