The fires here last month were the largest and most destructive in U.S. history. We live in the middle of Sonoma county, and the devastation is still hard to believe, in all directions.
But because we are deep proud blue, our state gets 0 in federal aid. 10,000 people lost homes, 8,000 buildings destroyed, and nothing from the feds to help recovery.
Our state contributes a lot more to federal coffers than any other, yet we are being punished for our votes.
Yep, every day another horror from the tangerine nightmare and his cabal. Wish there was an end in sight.

Please keep us up to date. With all that's going on it's easy to forget that tRump screwed California on this.

WASHINGTON (CBS SF & AP) The White House Friday sent Congress a $44 billion disaster aid request and it immediately came under attack from Californias two U.S. senators because it does not contain any relief for victims of the wine country wildfires.
In a joint statement, Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris called the bill appalling.

To help with the recovery, theres been a bipartisan effort between Californias congressional delegation and Governor Brown to secure $7.4 billion in federal funds for those devastated by the wildfires, the statement continued. Despite the Trump administrations request, well continue that effort to ensure enough funding is included for California in this aid package before it passes Congress.
The request, President Donald Trumps third since hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria slammed the Gulf Coast and Caribbean, would bring the total appropriated for disaster relief this fall close to $100 billion and thats before most of the money to rebuild Puerto Ricos devastated housing stock and electric grid is added in.
