But whatever the veracity and motivations of Franken's accusers their stories are not helpful to us no matter how much we think we did or didn't do to discredit them.

When he ran for senate, I was actually a little disappointed, as I loved his books and ability to skewer right-wingers and knew he'd have to put that aside, but I figured he knew what he was doing.

He's been more effective as a senator that I could ever have hoped for, but in the end, if he does lose his seat (I do hope not), he'll be back on the outside pissing in, with all the inside knowledge he's gained in senate.
