At least, that's my prediction. Some tough-talk letter from his lawyer is about the limit of what can be expected. Once the media outlet pushes back and forcefully stands by its reporting, Moore's lawyer knows the jig is up. They can only hunker down and hope a majority of Alabamans prefer a child molester to a Democrat on Dec. 12. If that happens, Roy will claim vindication, get sworn in, and have a lovely year or so of being a Senator.

If Moore loses on Dec. 12, he'll continue to bedevil the people of Alabama for as long as they're willing to put up with his sorry ass, but the rest of the country will be spared.
