US Version of Nigerian Internet Scam?

To: unsuspectingvictim@gmail.com
From: yournewbestfriend@yahoo.com

Subject: $1 Trillion Windfall Waiting for You!

Warmest Greetings:

I am the eldest son of the President of the most powerful nation on Earth. It has come to my attention that a large sum, in the amount of $1 Trillion, has been placed in an account in your name. You may not be aware of this fact. It will not be a simple matter for you to collect this money, due to government red tape. However, I want you to receive what is due to you, and have certain influences that will be able to make the total amount available to you. However, as you are no doubt aware, the federal government is a dismal, stinking swamp, and people will expect payment before releasing this money to you. I will be happy to facilitate this transaction. Naturally, I will need to "cross some palms with silver" to accomplish this. Only a tiny fraction of the total amount will be required. If you can forward me $1.635 Million, I will be able to assure you of full payment of the $1 Trillion total within 10 days.

As you may know, I must be careful in handling money, due to close monitoring of my affairs. So, it will be best if you tender the required funds in the form of iTunes gift cards. I can distribute those to the officials who are demanding bribes, anonymously, to protect both of us from surveillance and other risks.

Your immediate attention is required in this matter. If you delay, you may lose your chance at the $1 Trillion windfall. Please advise me by return email, and I will forward instructions for delivery of the required funds that will allow me to complete the transaction. Please do not mention this to anyone. It will not be safe if you do. Act quickly to receive what is due you!

Sincerely,

Donwald Jay Drumpf, Jr.
