How Many DUers Know at Least One 14-Year-Old Girl?

I know that I do. I have three great nieces who are that age or just past it. Whenever I think of Judge Roy Moore, I think of them.

1. Granddaughters. I'm sure I'd react with extreme violence toward any man who tried anything.

And I consider myself a pacifist. Truth be told, I have never, ever, in my 72 years of life, ever been in a physical fight with anyone. Never threw a punch, never been hit by a punch. But I'd set aside that record in a microsecond if anyone tried to mess with my granddaughters.

great nieces for the first time in 5 years. They are both 15 years old. I greeted them with handshakes. When they were little, they used to be great huggers, but I hadn't seen them for some time, so I opted for a different form of greeting.

That evening they came to my parents house with their parents for a quiet gathering. When they left, both girls came up together and gave me a big three-way hug. I was very pleased that they remembered their great uncle and felt moved to do that. But, I would not initiate any such thing. Nope!

They could be the daughters of friends or acquaintances in other ways.

6. That's OK. My wife is 11 years younger than I am.

She's 61, now. We've been married for 26 years.

When she was 14, I was 25. However, when we met, she was 34 years old and I was 45 years old. I think that's OK.

7. I don't know any girls who are currently 14 years old, but I have been a 14 year old girl.

I also have a daughter, granddaughters and great granddaughters who have been that age or will be. The thought of a 32 year old man putting his hands on them at that age is repulsive.

At 14, my parents would not have allowed me to date a 32 year old man and would have had some choice words for a man that age asking to date me. I would have thought it very unusual and creepy if a man that age had asked me out or shown an interest in me in that way.

I wasn't raised in the deep south, but where I lived that kind of behavior was frowned upon when I was growing up in the 50's

a 14-year-old in any sort of romantic or sexual way is abhorrent to most of us, I'm sure. It's simply not done. 14-year-olds are still children, regardless of how they look. Adults need to leave them the heck alone to find their own way, with people near their own age.

There's something badly wrong with a man in his 30s seeking out young teens. Something that everyone should condemn.

I would say there's something obviously wrong with him.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

And anybody that knew about it and let it happen should be smacked.

She's my reference point when anyone discusses Moore. I think if someone tried to do her what Moore did, my mother would make sure he had no continued interest in the opposite sex at all.

Being 14 didn’t protect me at all. To answer your question, I know several 14 year old girls and they are joys to me.

approached by the 30+ year old supervisor of students in middle school via IM. I guess he had been warned by the school before about his communication with students but he didn't stop. I read the messages that he sent to my daughter and her 13 yo friend and it was gross. We reported him and he ended up losing his job, which is exactly what should have happened. It was a very ugly situation.
