Fonseca posted an updated picture of her truck to her Facebook page Sunday night. The message now reads in full:
YEAH FUCK TRUMP AND FUCK YOU FOR VOTING FOR HIM. FUCK TROY NEHLS AND FUCK YOU FOR VOTING FOR HIM.
Fonseca was scheduled to hold a press conference Monday with Texas State Representative Ron Reynolds at the Fort Bend County Justice Center. We have to protect peoples First Amendment Right to Free Speech, Reynolds said. A difference in political views does not give Sheriff Nehls the right to target citizens. These actions by Sheriff Nehls could be an abuse of his law enforcement authority.
As for Sheriff Nehls, he told local NBC affiliate KPRC he was not surprised by the addition of his name to Fonsecas truck, and that he thinks its disgusting.

(182,851 posts)In Virginia you can call VDOT to complain about vanity license plates. Va has the most per capita in the country. I can't say I've ever seen one that was worth a call but apparently the DMV has some slip through the cracks from time to time.

(4,787 posts)From the article:
The charges were from another county. She was indicted in late July. It was described as an arrest on an outstanding warrant but it does not appear as if they had asked for his assistance previously in arresting her. (Had they done so, they would have found her at home as they did this time.) One article that I read said that someone had brought the outstanding warrant to this sheriff's attention because of the publicity in this case. She said that she was unaware of the outstanding arrest warrant. (It may have previously been sealed.)

(554 posts)The sheriff was clever, considering this image is the single most recognizable feature on her vehicle and would make her very easy to find.
I guess if you don't want to be arrested, don't commit fraud? Otherwise there would have been no grounds.
