I've had students proposition me ("I'd do anything I could to get a good grade" ) but have never even been tempted ("Then study for the final" ).

My language in class is not restricted in terms of sexual terms (I teach English lit.), but no, I've never sexually harassed anyone, nor have ever been accused.

I think there is a large percentage of adult men like me who are always respectful to everyone, regardless of age, sex, race, ethnicity, religion (though I make Maher-like jokes about religion, no student takes offense because he or she knows I'm joking and respect their religion), etc.

Good post - I agree with you re decent respectful men and I do know of students who would do anything for grades.
