Guess they're feeling the heat with the name change.
But who pays $150,000 for a motorcycle?

(4,407 posts)A motorcycle that costs $150K is a ridiculous waste of money. Unless these things drive themselves, what could possibly make a two wheel vehicle worth that much?

(2,412 posts)Unfortunately, the word "confederation" confuses people... mostly people who don't want to learn what confederation actually means (alliance). Another group of people see evil behind every corner, and like to raise a ruckus for the sake of raising a ruckus.
In essence, it was a branding/business decision. It was easier to change the name than to open peoples minds. They are also going in a different direction (electric instead of petrol)
The Confederate Air Force changed their name a few years back too, for the same reason. (Commemorative Air Force)

Good to hear!

(53,787 posts)Their web site says Confederate Motorcycles: The Art of Rebellion
But at least they used a Camu quote about rebellion and freedom to make the name not seem so directed towards southern heritage.
