For his supporters, and the Repub party, trump is simply a mirror

he is a perfect reflection of how they all genuinely are, and feel. They look at him, they see themselves - perhaps there is some shame, but I suspect for most there is comfort....which is also a clear indication of the hypocrisy, in that they are, and are living, in the opposite of what they supposedly believe (for those who are "religious).

We should not be surprised by this - disappointed, surely; angry, indeed. But not surprised - this has always been there, and every now and then a catalyst emerges - Reagan, Nixon - but none with the malignancy of trump.
