Who is really representing you?
Find out your congressmen and senators' priorities. Using just your zip code, ProPublica will find out where your members of congress stand and whats important to them, not just with voting, but also their newsletters, emails, and relationships with other members of congress.

(46,119 posts)Hell yeah, I know him well. First name basis. We bump into each other at various events during the year. I last saw him at the Memorial Service for Fr. Mychal Judge (the Saint of 9/11) a couple of months ago.
I know his positions, and he knows mine. He works very hard for our district and is not a dogmatic Democrat. He *shapes* the policies, not just follows them.

(8,310 posts)I live in a red hell area. I constantly write to mine and they usually reply and tell me how much my opinion matters but then they go ahead and vote against what I asked. Their time is coming soon, though (I hope). One senator and rep up for re-election next year and I plan to fight tooth and nail to see that doesn't happen.

(13,871 posts)Unfortunately that is my my Representative: Joe Wilson, who famously yelled you lie during Obamas State of Union speech.
He is so gerrymandered (district goes from the suburbs of Columbia to Hilton Head Island) thatbhe probably cant be beaten.

(16,245 posts)Safe seat, very gerrymandered. Van Hollen and Cardin seem pretty decent. We just elected an Aussie as mayor, after a surprisingly ugly campaign (on the part of the Right wing PACs) and we have decent Democrats on the city council and in the state house. Now to get rid of Steve Shuh and Larry Hogan.
