(43,198 posts)It's Drudge.
That could mean anything, either some bullshit right wing narrative/non-story ("Trump declares War on People Who Say Happy Holidays!" ), or (hopefully) pre-emptive damage control in advance of a development in the Mueller investigation.
Or it could be nothing.
As I said, it's Drudge.
Remember Trump teasing a "big announcement" following his Asia trip, and it turned out to be just him awkwardly narrating what he did on his trip and then fumbling a bottle of water?

It's a serous problem in today's media world. "Journalists" use far too many question marks. Fox news has been working to set this precedence for decades.

(10,857 posts)I've been playing it my whole life--a lot of it right here, in fact, but it's even more effective in a shorter, faster format.
What you do is you make an early best-guess based upon incomplete data, float it, and forget it. If the thing happens, someone else invariably remembers and gives you credit for the call. If the thing does not happen, nobody remembers and you're not penalized for the error. You can be called out for it eventually, but nobody pays attention to that, either.
I don't know what that trick is called in magician-speak, but I'm sure it's one of the oldest in the book. In fact, I could write a book of Nostradamus-like predictions that I've posted here on DU over the years. What I'll not likely mention is the fact that each one of those gems sits atop a hundred nugs of horse poop.
Hey, DU gods, can I publish a book with you, tentatively entitled "I Told You So," based upon my amazing political predictions?

(115,836 posts)They post wild, unsourced speculation on their blogs, which is picked up and reposted by people wanting whatever it is to happen, but most of the time it doesn't and is forgotten. When on the rare occasion something does turn out to be more or less true (throw enough stuff at the wall and some is bound to stick), they are lauded as being either prescient or brilliant investigators with better sources than the WaPo, when of course they are neither.

(34,195 posts)... an article in the right wing Washington Examiner newspaper about Trump's tweets over Thanksgiving.
Pretty much a 'nothing burger'.
