Does Flynn go to jail as soon as the judge pronounces his sentence?

Since he has already pled guilty?

If the judge gives him 2-5 years, he could probably be out within a year for good conduct, could he not?

How does this work? Do they take him into immediate custody?

or he'll be given a deferred sentence to be decreased or nullified pending completion of stipulations.

then they'll LOCK HIM UP. Sentencing is usually a different hearing, but when it happens, then they'll LOCK HIM UP.

I also sure hope they have good security on him....

I can imagine there are many, many guilty people of serious crimes and felonies that want Flynn to not be able to talk....

But as with Papadopoulos, sentencing probably won't be for a while. He'll need to show continued cooperation with Mueller before he can get the reduced sentence. Papadopoulos' deal says he will get 0-6 months. Flynn would love that deal.

They'll hold it over his head to make sure he sings all the verses. Remember, Flynn doesn't really know what the sentence will be because it's dependent upon his performance.

Sentencing will be months away. Meanwhile he talks to Mueller. That's the deal for this one charge and he sings for low sentencing.

Mueller will demand a LOT of information that Flynn has to give him some kind of a deal--he wants immunity, but he'll probably get a reduced sentence. His guilty plea is only the first step.

for a conviction on *three* charges, only one of which was the same false statements charge they got flynn on.

plus flynn is cooperating in a larger investigation.

my guess is zero prison time, contingent on ongoing cooperation; 2 years probation.

It's part of a plea deal.

You plead guilty.
You tell us all you know about Trump.
Your sentence will depend upon your full disclosure.

May be jail time, more likely some other penalty - probation and a fine.

I LOVE the fact that he has to plead to a felony, BUT it's a friggin' 1001(a)(2) count. He will have a criminal history category of I and a base offense level of 7. His guidelines will be 0-6months.

He's getting probation.

or do you believe that a federal judge is going to give a 5 YEAR upward departure on a cooperating defendant who is pleading guilty, or do you just want to enable everyone else who doesn't understand how this all works?
