So this seems to be a race between Mueller's take down, and how much ruination they can sow first

Last edited Fri Dec 1, 2017, 03:25 PM - Edit history (1)

We are getting to witness how much damage a bunch of spiteful, hateful, ignorant, in some cases stupid politicians can do before the roof comes crashing down. Which makes them doubly loathsome.

The other thing today should reinforce - Hillary had no chance. It was all rigged against her (by Russia) - so this should hopefully stop the "Hillary should have done this or that better" talk. She was a great candidate. She carried the popular vote. She should be president.

But it was stolen.

elections in the u.s. have been had problems almost as long as we've had elections. the history of political parties "stuffing" ballot boxes, dead people voting, paying people for votes, etc. In modern times it is thought that LBJ entered politics on a corrupt election, and JFK's father is is thought to have fixed the vote in Illinois giving him the presidency over Nixon. GHWB is thought to have had a henchman fix a New Hampshire primary by electronic means. I'm sure others will have stories of election corruption by both dems and repubs.

Sure, Nixon's people resurfaced for GWB. And I agree, Nixon should have been prosecuted for any number of offenses, as Reagan/GHWB should have been as well. This represents the members of both parties maintaining the status quo, maintaining the illusion of democracy, and maintaining the power of the rich. Gore, in essence, committed a similar offense by not protesting the corrupted 2000 election, as did Clinton in 2016, all under the myth of "peaceful transition of power." Nothing "peaceful" about stolen elections (of note, examples are legion of u.s. imperialism not having the same concern for peaceful transition of power in other countries.)

2000 marked egregious coordinated theft on a large scale and involving sophisticated electronic manipulation of voting rolls and voting, a corrupt FL governor and sec'y of state, and a corrupt Supreme Court. Kind of a geometric escalation of run-of-the-mill American corruption.

2016 involved the introduction of foreign manipulation (for the first time, as far as I know) of an already massively corrupt system

She ran well enough to easily carry the popular vote, and as far as the Electoral College, I think some trickery and outright thievery gave that to Dumpty.

As I have said all along, the Trumpster is illegitimate, an imposter residing (off and on) in the WH. In 2016, we witnessed a political coup, engineered by the Trumpster's campaign and family members, the Alt-right/fascist brigade, the GOP, Leftist agitators, media sell-outs and Putin & Co. Considering the gale-force winds, it's miraculous that Hillary pulled off a 3 million vote advantage. But make no mistake the 2016 election was stolen deliberately, willfully and with malicious intent.

Never to be forgotten nor forgiven. I want all these creatures to do a perp walk. On their frigging knees!

Somewhat OT: But over the Thanksgiving Day holiday I was able to visit the Museum of the American Revolution in Philly. You want a reminder of why this fight for the rule of law is important, you could choose no better site. We are standing on the shoulders of giants, men and women of incredible intelligence, perseverance and foresight. They were the original progressives who put it all on the line over eight bloody years. There have been other wars but none quite like this one, a Revolution for the Ages.

We need to remember that, our obligation to our past and our future. And for those who would sell us out?

Lock 'em, up!

As the government and country became country concentrating on value - monetary and power.

Not to say that there haven't been giants since the Revolution but the downward drift in the lowest-common-politician has been pretty steady.

I think as the shit rises to the top it's time to have a big flush and start with some new, fresh, real talent. Perhaps with a mechanism to make sure people like the Koch-suckers can't pollute the well in the future.

This is exactly right, it was a stolen election planned well in advance . That's why McTurtle was so certain repugs would win, he knew Russia was spending billions to get this done in coordination with his party and drumpf was a willing tool.

I have been so irritated by all the blame dems and Hillary crowd here. She did not lose, the race was stolen, period. the end. WI had several districts where the votes outnumbered the total number of voters in that district, and all of them were in the repugs favor.
same thing happened in MI and I'd bet in FL too based on the weird way the votes came out. Take those 3 states away and HRC won it all, not just popular but also the states as well.
