Politics Track: JUST IN: CBO Confirms Poorest Americans Get Destroyed By the GOP Tax Bill:
Actually, this is a few days old; we were never allowed to see the CBO scoring!!!!
The GOPs tax bill is shaping up to be just as disastrous for America as the GOPs failed Obamacare repeal. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has finished scoring the measure, and its ugly.
The CBOs analysis concluded that the measure would add $1.4 trillion to the deficit and wreak havoc on poor Americans. Meanwhile, the president is telling everyone that the bill is a massive win for everyone. Considering Trump stands to save millions if the bill passes through the Senate, hes willing to say anything to sell it.
Via the Washington Post:
By 2019, Americans earning less than $30,000 a year would be worse off under the Senate bill, CBO found. By 2021, Americans earning $40,000 or less would be net losers, and by 2027, most people earning less than $75,000 a year would be worse off. On the flip side, millionaires and those earning $100,000 to $500,000 would be big beneficiaries, according to the CBOs calculations.
The main reason the poor get hit so hard in the Senate GOP bill is because the poor would receive less government aid for health care.
