Pelosi Subverting Democrats Demanding Resignations While GOP Keeps Their Harassers.

It is just plain stupid to demand resignations of Democrats. Surely the Democrats can find a way of reprimanding Democrats who have crossed the line. The GOP has NO intention of doing anything about their harassers. We know that stye have a lot of guilty parties in their delegation. We also know women around them face near death if they say a word no matter how bad it is. I do not expect any GOP staff members to come forward because they will never ever work again anywhere the rest of their lives. They may even face real physical harm if they speak up. They have a iron fist clamp on their staffs.

The GOP operates by a very different standard of intimidation. And the violence these women would face leave them really unprotected because the GOP has so much control right now. And RW extremists have shown how dangerous than can be. Just ask someone publicly criticizing a GOPPER or Trump.

When we cry about integrity in other contexts, we are told that ANYBODY with a D after their name is preferable, so please just stop. Y'all can't have it both ways. More Ds make for a better America or it doesn't. I've tried nuance before and been told to stop being a divider. Now, I'm a uniter and still getting shit on. Fuck this noise.

What good does it do to throw our integrity out the window, along with ethics? Who does it endear? Our base? No. The independent that sees no difference between the Republican or Democratic Party? No. The white, male, old Republican?

What are we fighting for here, again? I forget. Who are we going after by throwing integrity, ethics and our base, out the window?

People can either accept a large tent, say they do (but really don't), or have a small tent, i suppose. I WANT integrity, but it must come from those who constantly WHINE about Manchin being the best we can get from WV. Any other criticism is moot cuz purity (in the form of a magical D ... until their fucking mind changes). I picked Manchin out of a hat, but insert whoever suits your fancy.

When Ms Pelosi starts demanding Trump be impeached for his incidents of harassment, will you be on the front lines saying, "she did the right thing getting rid of the Dems accused of the same thing." Or, will you be saying, "Nah, she didn't get rid of Dems accused of it, why should the President face charges?"

There is nothing special about him, nothing worth protecting. He can be replaced with another Democrat who has not been accused of sexual harassment by multiple women.

In that context, who cares what Republicans do?

Is this shit allowed to stay on DU? Conyers is a Democrat. We are about sick and tired of the Race Card being played on Conyers by a bunch of more likely than not Caucasian folks behind the comfort of the keyboard and a computer fixing their typing skills to say the flat lies about the Dean of the U.S. Congress, the HONORABLE John Conyers.

Seeing how long this shit will be allowed to stand on DU.....

From Mr. Conyers ACTUAL VOTERS.....

In Conyers’ district, constituents demand due process

"Detroit – While there are mixed opinions, constituents in U.S. Rep. John Conyers’ 13th Congressional District on Saturday said the 88-year-old should be given due process before choosing to resign.

A decision will likely be made by Sunday or Monday about whether Conyers will stay in Congress amid allegations that he sexually harassed employees, his attorney said Friday.

“He should be given due process first,” said Nicole Mattison, of Detroit, 45. “He’s been a figure for such a long time and there are mixed feelings but we need to believe in the justice system. He’s also a senior and has been in his position for a very long time. Congress should be preparing to groom someone else.”

The district includes parts of Detroit, and Deaborn Heights, Highland Park, Inkster, Romulus, Wayne, Westland, Redford, River Rouge, and Melvindale.

Willie Mitchell, from Detroit, said the city has been blessed with good representation by Conyers but should be up to the House Ethics Committee to decide whether he should finish out his term.

“It’s hard for District 13 to find a candidate...let nobody fool you John Conyers has blessed us. The next guy we get in there...who knows, could be worse,” said Mitchell, 68. “Let the process go, but if he’s guilty...I have three granddaughters and two grandsons, I need them to believe they can go out in the world and get a good job without being harassed.”

Conyers, who was hospitalized in the Detroit area late Wednesday, has repeatedly denied claims that he mistreated staffers, but calls for his departure intensified in recent days as two accusers went public detailing his alleged misconduct. They included House Speaker Paul Ryan, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and four members of the Michigan delegation.

“If people don’t trust you after they have elected you, then something has to change,” said Harvey Thiede, from Dearborn Heights, 69. “If the man is guilty of something and it’s flagrant, he should take it upon himself to do the right thing and say ‘I made a mistake and it’s coming back to haunt me, maybe I should step down.’”

He should leave Congress, and be replaced by someone who has not been accused by multiple women of harassment.

This is pretty simple stuff.

Having a D next to your name doesn't give you special rights to do as you please, while the party closes ranks. That's absurd and disgusting.

And I don't care at this point. Really.

Roy Moore has raped and molested. Trump has raped and molested. David Vitter went to prostitutes and wore diapers. And so far, NONE of these Grand Old Perverts has paid the price.

Show me a Dem who has raped and molested and I will show you someone I want to see hauled before a judge and jury.

But everything we hold dear is hanging by a thread, and every single Dem from the House or Senate that we voluntarily throw to the wolves is -- thrown to the wolves. There is no reciprocity. There is no "cleaning up" of Congress by the other side. All that happens is we lose that vote and that seat.. The GOP is at war with us, and we are losing.

Censure the jerks. Fine them. Make them pay their own legal bills. Make a harassment policy worth its salt, one that is fair to the victims.

But do NOT throw away one more precious Dem vote this year without extreme cause.
