(14,176 posts)Democrats in Washington are taking not only the high road, but the invisible high road (because Franken was declared guilty and thrown out without even an ethics investigation) that someone, somewhere, might imagine being there.
Whom are they trying to impress? Why not go through the ethics investigation and then....if say new accusations surface, or if new evidence comes out in favor of the accusers.....then resign?
Yup, Trump and company are strutting around like peacocks today. Because they know that their base is fully indoctrinated. Franken resigning will not gain Democrats any respect from registered Republicans. It will only confirm that he is not only guilty of rude, inappropriate behaviour, but heck, if he admitted to that then he's probably also guilty of rape and maybe even pedophilia as well. So there is no net gain for them whatsoever.
Meanwhile, Moore is being "railroaded" because why would he fight back so hard and be supported by the Republican party so staunchly if he were any where near guilty of what he is accused of.
