General Discussion

NO ONE involved in the Al Franken lynch mob will get my support, should they decide to run in the 2020 presidential primary. I've been asked this over and over on different threads, so just thought I should officially make my position clear.
BUT, I will vote for the Democrat in the general.

(1,606 posts)She (and any other female thinking they are safe) might not like it when they get blasted with some horseshit anonymous "accusations." The fascists are still laughing their asses off at how this worked so easily!
All the self-righteous huffing and puffing about morality and doing the "right thing" by just resigning without any due process would go right out the window.

(14,164 posts)There an Acorn...
Everywhere an Acorn.
Can we get Nazi boy James O'Keefe from Project Veritas front and center with his video cam and help trash an other progressive/lib Democrat into a bloody pulp.
Let the Fascists have free hand to eliminate the political competition, grind up the good people into puree and sawdust. So then the Nazis gain full control of the ship of state. Then freely chart a course full steam ahead toward their warped and selfish agendas without any resistance in any shape, form, or way.

(1,606 posts)So I say, grow a spine and use the same undying methods of attack against 'em. Except in our case, the charges and accusations are true, no need to make shit up. Just be loud and blast that shit repeatedly and mercilessly. No more of this cowardly self defeating "turn the other cheek" crap.

(16,887 posts)..to run against them in a primary.
That includes Warren and even Kamala Harris.
Kamala is good friends with very good friends of mine and I often see her at social events. I plan to tell her personally if my opinion here. Will be curious what she says her real reasons were.
MoonRiver
(36,926 posts)just not one from the Mob. Let us know what Harris says, although the fact that she signed on to lynch Franken is enough for me to write her off.

(16,104 posts)We are so easily divided!
I am certain that is a chapter or two in the Republican Playbook.
And it really works in their favor when Democrats determine only SOME victims deserve to be heard. They love it when we turn our backs on our constituents! Then we are no better than them and lose that argument, too.

(36,111 posts)I'm not sure what the poster was saying, but I see the Democrats AND Republicans choosing victims du jour, decade after decade, in an attempt to stir up divisive election talking points and avoid confronting what voters really want to hear about.
I see Gillibrand and her ilk attempting to create an election issue this way, preempting any talk of Medicare For All or increased minimum wages, etc

(153,185 posts)for whatever reason, they, like the GOP, wanted him out and used this opportunity to achieve that result

(14,176 posts)Almost like disgruntled Dems who have been part of the establishment for decades already, resented how quickly this 'comedian' gained popularity. Mostly because he is one of the rare breed of Dem that actually goes hard after prominent Republicans putting their own efforts to shame. ("He could be a good President" ). Establishment Dems may be fearful that he would have run for President one day, perhaps even in 2020, his popularity taking away their power to put in place their corporate-vetted nominee.

.... not just limited to the Republican Playbook...... ... more so to include the RUSSIAN playbook also...
To destabilize the Dem Party and the entire American political process.... so the Fascist Oligarchs can seize full control of the entire economic and political process in the USA.
The Trump Team of Trillionaires has such a nice ring to it. Get used to the concept, we are closer than you can conceive.

Wrong choice on Sen. Franken!
No money, no calls, no letters, just one single vote in the general. OTOH, I WILL volunteer, write letters, make GOTV calls and make donations to anyone primarying any of these so-called people who don't respect the truth and are so freaking self-righteous and self-serving while destroying the party.
