(9,353 posts)I found it appalling that members of the democratic senate would form a witch hunting party and shame him into leaving.
I am still pissed at Gillibrand and will try to primary her out at the next election.

(102,343 posts)I can't quit the nagging feeling that he was not only set up, but may well be internalizing this mightily. Whether he made mistakes or not, I believe he is a very good man, a highly intelligent. honorable and sensitive man.
Regardless, I do not believe he deserved to have his career ended in this way and can't help a sense of "collective guilt" about that.
just to add, I am feeling really demoralized this weekend-- besides the fires (and watching those poor thoroughbred horses run for their lives--many which perished, seeing the people suffering as their homes are lost, absolutely sickened by the photos of starving polar bears as the climate deniers prevail. Losing one of our toughest fighters is just the final straw.

(171 posts)Said if he stood up and admitted all and resigned, I'd still support him.
Said if he stood up and denied it all and stayed to fight, I'd still support him.
Said if he resigned in the face of flimsy allegations and peer pressure, I'd lose a little more of what little precious hope I have left.
