In this case:
pro-Gillibrand, anti-Gillibrand
pro-Franken, anti-Franken

Look what I just found in a comment on Senator Gillibrand's FB page: (negative story about her)
Kamala Harris called on Franken to resign, as did Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Bernie Sanders [View all]

Ex-Clinton aide criticizes Gillibrand after Franken's resignation

(6,916 posts)Remember, Franken has been one of the top Russian troll topics on twitter.
Would we be talking about Franken a bit less here if not for Russian and rightwing media amplification of Franken and Gillibrand? Perhaps. And if so, we should be thinking about how to prevent our conversations from being influenced by right-wing manipulation.

(58,724 posts)The reason was that I was frustrated with how much negativity was being thrown at her.
I think it's important for DUers to remember that she has been a great senator who continues to fight for causes that are important to DUers.
Obviously this is not a particularly popular position right now on DU, but I think that is all the more reason to share it.
She is, after all, a Democrat, and a damn good one, in my view.

(6,916 posts)I like both Gillibrand and Franken.
And if Franken did what he is accused of, I think he should resign.
But I worry that the first accuser at least was exaggerating her story - given what we know about right wing dirty tricks from people like James O'Keefe and Roger Stone, I think Franken deserves a full investigation.

(6,916 posts)As well as the GOP trying to destroy the America we know.
Franken and Gillibrand deserve some discussion. But let's do that, then refocus on the threats to America posed by the GOP and the current president.

There's pot-stirring going on alright. The motivation is whatever it is. I don't think it depends on outside agency.

(6,916 posts)Recently Russia is an example of a user of that propaganda method.
Just watch out for the same method here at DU.

(39,313 posts)Though I suppose if you add trolls into the mix they can push something over the edge.
The election of Trump pretty much hinged on that.. the combination of incompetence and manipulation.
