GOP Sen. Susan Collins: Not sure if I will support tax reform plan

Last edited Sun Dec 10, 2017, 05:20 PM - Edit history (1)

Washington (CNN)Republican Sen. Susan Collins said Sunday morning that she hasn't made a decision yet about whether or not she will vote for the the Republican tax reform plan.

During an appearance on CBS's "Face The Nation," Collins, of Maine, told host John Dickerson that she is waiting for a final version of the much-discussed bill to come out to make her decision.

"I always wait until the final version of the bill is brought before us before I make a final decision on whether or not to support it," Collins said. "There are major differences between the House and Senate bills. And I don't know where the bill is going to come out."

Collins has said she might not support the bill if certain amendments are not included in the final version. In recent interviews, she has been clear that she wants certain provisions included in the legislation to help middle-class families.

Because there's always some reason or another why Something Must Be Done. The Sen. Collins road show is getting too long in the tooth to entertain folks anymore.

That's like calling the bank robber who tosses the money in the car only moderately criminal because he's not one of the "bad" ones who shoot the cops in the getaway.

An honest and accurate comparison is not with each other right now (the only way Collins would ever be described as "moderate&quot but through the perspective of what the Republican party is and has been over the last century.

Today's Republican Party has moved extreme right. Reaganism was a move of the party to the strong right from a mix averaging more moderate before him in the glory days of the New Deal era, but Collins's voting record for years now has been far more conservative than Reagan ever was.

I despise her.

She's kowtowed to right-wingers, again and again.
Susan Collins stands up for nothing.
