Schiff: There's "damning" evidence of Trump-Russia collusion

Erica Pandey 5 hrs ago

Rep. Adam Schiff — the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee investigating contact between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin — said the evidence of coordination is "pretty damning" on CNN's "State of the Union."

"We have all of these facts in chronology, you'd have to believe that these were all isolated incidents, not connected to each other — just doesn't make rational sense ... We do know this: the Russians offered help, the campaign accepted help, the Russians gave help and the president made full use of that help. That is pretty damning, whether it is proof beyond a reasonable doubt of conspiracy or not."

The GOP on his committee are so obstructive, and the minority's power so limited. But he's so smart, and he knows that as long as they can keep getting evidence from those they interview, he can get it out in public (and to Mueller). He can keep insisting on transcripts and trying to get public sworn testimony.

Fighting the good fight.

Spies for our allies--say Israel--have gone to jail for being spies. There does not have be a declared state of war for a public servant to commit treason. Attempting to overthrow ones own government is also treason. The US government exists to uphold the US Constitution. If Trump conspired to violate the Constitution--say, by allowing Russia to hack the vote, taking away the rights of US citizens to have proportional representation, then he has committed treason.

Oops. Now my reply makes no sense. Someone posted that it can't be treason if we are not at war with Russia.

IANAL, but it seems there's so much evidence. Yet print and broadcast journalists treat it as though they must be shown a video of Trump asking Putin for help and Putin delivering or the charges are indefensible. Last week the McFarland email that said the Russians threw the election to Trump was treated as though she might be kidding. It didn't read that way to me at. all. It read as though she was admitting there had been a conspiracy. However, you'd have thought every American journalist had been hired to represent K.T. McFarland. Everyone should be seen as innocent until proven guilty, but, honestly, to not consider all that this may be is journalistic malpractice.
