Since his stated reason for resigning was that the investigation would distract him too much from his job

Note that we are not, in fact, in the majority... and the majority drives the bus (including the speed at which the bus moves).

They have every incentive to have the investigation stretch out until it impacts the 2018 elections. Would you put it past them?
