(14,577 posts)What the hell. Don't even worry about allegations, spurious or otherwise. Get rid of them all!
a self purge, if you will.
look in the mirror and ask-
have i been accused?
am i guilty?
shouldnt i really spend some more time w my family?
a purge of the conscience.
eta- you can bet that there is plenty of fresh talent waiting in the wings to take the place of anyone who knows they are jerks.

Repentance? Not allowed.
Change of heart? Too damn bad!
You saw the light and grew the fuck up? No excuse. You must be drummed out of the corps and hounded for the rest of your natural life, and there is no escape. Just ask Franken.

(2,785 posts)try and lose as many male voters as possible? And have as many male elected officials resign so they can be replaced with females? Turn this from seeking justice for women to a battle of the sexes. Maybe we want to be a minority party forever.

(63 posts)I'm astounded by the number of seemingly naive people in the world. I have known several instances of women completely making up accusations like these, to get back at some guy that they felt hurt them, whether true or not.
When I was in college and grad school, a friend had a girlfriend who was bats*** crazy, and would pretend to have been smacked by any guy she met who did something she disliked. She'd walk outside, call a cop, and smack herself hard on the cheek, then when the cops got there, they'd see the mark, and often haul the guy in to be booked. She once did it to my friend right in front of me and another friend, and when the cops got there, they were ready to take her word over the three of us. Luckily, one of the cops remembered her from a prior similar situation, and backed off. But the cops were going to take the word of one woman over three men.
So yes, I'm sure some of these accusations are made up, especially when you factor in the likely secondary gain associated with accusing a prominent person.
